Group Classes

Our group classes are just that - a variety of different classes that are held in groups! We’re trying to offer a variety of classes that will progress throughout the year.

Puppy Kindergarten

The Farm Pet Retreat offers fun, friendly and informative puppy classes. The course focuses on teaching you to understand your puppy better, nurture calmness, build confidence whilst supporting healthy growth and development.

Our puppy classes predominantly focus on helping you to teach those life skills, such as how to stay calm and focused and be comfortable with their environment, among other helpful behaviours. We put a big focus on communication and body language to help you better understand each other's communication and subtle signals so your relationship can thrive.

We will help you teach behaviours to your puppy such as giving you attention and staying engaged with you, coming when called, patiently waiting whilst you walk away from them, dropping objects and other foundation exercises including basic scent exercises to promote calmness which may be one of the most important life skills a puppy can have.

This is also a great way to socialise your puppy with other puppies and humans, so they can learn good social skills, and get used to the perks of a new environment.

Our trainers aim to cover the right balance of theory and practice so you walk away from the course with lots of knowledge and helpful tools to help your puppy grow into confident adults.

Intro to Swimming Class

At The Farm Pet Retreat we wanted to give dog owners another great way to exercise their furry friends. Something that’s quick and simple, suits all dogs and just a lot of fun. Swimming gives dogs an excellent workout,  a 5 minute swim is equal to a mile walk! It’s low impact on their joints and in a pool there’s no worry of them coming into contact with something they shouldn’t like in a lake or river.

Owners are encouraged to get into the pool too to help with the dogs confidence (18 years + only in the pool) as they will take confidence from their owner being in the pool even if they're not handling them initially.  Our Certified canine Hydrotherapists will be in the pool to assist and, or if you choose not to enter with your dog.

Life jackets are available for all dogs (if they have their own, please bring it along) and will usually be used for these sessions unless the dog is an experienced, strong swimmer.

Swimming lessons for your dog can help:

  • Overcome a fear of water

  • Teach the basics of swimming for dogs

  • Build muscle and ligament strength

  • Assist with weight loss

  • Improve mental health

  • Support a healthy exercise regime

  • Help your dog feel confident in the water and achieve peak fitness.

Recreational Dock Diving

Dock diving is an exciting performance sport that is all about fun for dogs, owners and spectators.

If your dog loves the water and can’t get enough running, jumping, and fetching, combine these passions and get into dock diving. It’s as simple as it sounds: you and your dog, on a dock, having a blast! Competitions involve distance jumping, high jumping, and speed toy retrieval. The sport is open to all dogs regardless of breed, size, shape, ability or age.

All you need to bring is yourself, your dog, a 4 – foot leash, towels, and drinking water for yourself and your dog.

We provide the dock and the water as well as the experts!
